Multi-Skilled Engineer

Greenvale AP is one of the UK’s largest growers and packers of fresh potatoes, supplying some of the country’s largest retailers and processors from our 2 production facilities. Our Duns site, based in the Scottish Borders is looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer. This role includes ensuring that all day-to-day engineering activities, planned preventative maintenance and reactionary maintenance are completed effectively, efficiently and safely on site, supporting the Engineering Manager.

  • Location: Duns
  • Reporting to: Engineering Manager
  • Salary: £20.23 per hour
  • Hours of work: Days, Monday-Friday, 07:00-16:00hrs (1x 15 minutes paid break & 1x 30 minutes unpaid break)
Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring prompt delivery of engineering solutions
  • Ensuring planned preventative maintenance and remedial work are completed in a timely manner
  • Attending breakdowns, ensuring downtime is monitored and recorded
  • Communicating with the Engineering Manager and other key stakeholders
  • Liaising with contractors on site, including accurately completing work permits
  • Supporting Production requirements
  • Ensuring all risk assessments are completed in line with Company procedures
  • Attending and participating in Production meetings to understand planned works
  • Ensuring all department checks are carried out in a timely manner e.g. PAT, emergency lights
Key Attributes:
  • C&G/ONC/HNC Electrical/Mechanical qualifications required
  • Experience with mechanical engineering with a good knowledge of electrical and hydraulic maintenance
