Growing Field's Person
Greenvale is one of the UK’s largest growers and packers of fresh potatoes, supplying some of the country’s largest retailers and processors from our two production facilities. As a Growing Field’s Person, your role will include providing support to the Greenvale Growing team including conducting cold-store checks, sampling, wash-ups as well as planting, irrigation and harvest duties.
- Location: Duns
- Reporting to: Growing Manager
- Salary: £23,000-£27,000 per year
- Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00hrs (flexibility required)
Main Responsibilities:
- Conducting weekly checks of cold-stores
- Monitoring crop quality with monthly wash-ups
- Conducting seed quality checks and tuber counts
- Producing seed rates for crops
- Completing daily sampling and reporting findings
- Actively completing test-digs and creating burn down plans
- Capturing crop data for irrigation scheduling
Key Attributes:
- Experience and knowledge of potato production
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn and use own initiative
- Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence is required
